History

In 1997 Sean Rooney dreamed of starting his own company. His first signature service was a double-blind network audit, described in this white paper. Network redesign contracts soon followed. Both remain Coldstream specialties.

From the beginning, Coldstream has attracted uniquely challenging work. In 1999, we were contracted to program PGP 6.5.2 Command Line for Linux. As cryptographic programming, emergency data recovery, and forensic audit projects came in, there was a need to expand our team of technical experts. In 2000, Coldstream Associates was established as a limited liability company.

Coldstream has found its niche as a boutique company offering a range of IT security services with consistent attention to detail. Driven by innovative research and development, we have published several white papers and developed strategic alliances with other leaders in the field. Coldstream remains Canadian owned and operated.

Our most recent passion is for projects with a public safety impact. Starting in 2004, we offer two new services, incident response and interest monitoring.
