The District of Coldstream provides areas where dogs may be exercised, either on or off leash. Dogs must be under control of the owners at all times, and owners must clean up after their dogs immediately. Signs, bag dispenser, and receptacles are located at each of the designated dog parks.
Greater Vernon has additional dog parks and a dog park map.
Pet Friendly Beach Pilot Project
Coldstream Council is embarking on a new one (1) year pilot project starting on Saturday June 14, 2025, to allow off-leash dogs at Pumphouse Beach. This pilot project will test the viability and community impact of a designated pet friendly beach.
What you need to Know
The District requests that all users of the beach remember:
- Parking is limited. Please do not block driveways or impede traffic on WestKal Road. You are encouraged to park at the Husband Road beach parking lot or Coldstream Station and walk the short distance along the Rail Trail to access Pumphouse Beach.
- Clean up after yourself and your pets and throw garbage in the waste bins provided.
- Pumphouse Beach is not fenced.
- Be in control of your dog at ALL times both on the beach and in the swim area.
- Bring drinking water, as there is no potable water at Pumphouse Beach for you or your pet.
- Be mindful of other users – this beach is for everyone to enjoy!
