Lavington Outdoor Pool Now Open

The District of Coldstream is pleased to announce that the Lavington Outdoor Pool is now open to the public following the successful completion of repairs to a damaged gutter-drain pipe and the pool’s return lines.

The repairs were required after camera inspections identified several cracks in the pool’s approximately 35-foot-long gutter-drain pipe. The cracks were allowing gravel to enter the pool’s circulation system, which had the potential to affect the pool’s circulation, filtration and chlorination systems.

While repairing the gutter-drain pipe, crews discovered numerous cracks in the pool’s return lines. Both return lines, totaling approximately 100 feet of pipe, were replaced to prevent leaks and ensure the circulation system was operating properly.

The repair work also included concrete repairs, as well as the installation of new pipe and bedding materials. District staff worked alongside contractors to complete the repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We are very pleased to have the Lavington Outdoor Pool back open for the community,” said Mayor Hoyte. “We appreciate everyone’s patience while this important repair work was completed. We know how much residents value this facility during the summer, and we’re grateful to the City of Vernon staff, District staff and contractors who worked hard to get the pool reopened as quickly as possible.

The Lavington Outdoor Pool is now open during its regular operating hours. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the facility and enjoy the remainder of the summer.
