Sean Rooney, Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Sean Rooney has been involved in the technology industry in many forms for the past twenty years. His certifications include CNE, Compaq ASE, NAI PGP Developer, Federal Associate of Security Officials. In 1990, he worked for Employment and Immigration National EDP security, as a programmer in security development, until 1993. In 1993, he returned to Toronto to pursue other avenues of work in his chosen field. Over the next four years, he contracted to work in a variety of different organisations. During this time he assisted in the authoring of Electronic Commerce: A Strategic Approach by Gary Benesko (Pub. EDI Council Canada).

Since the creation of Coldstream in 1999, Sean has managed all projects and been the guiding force behind all its interests.

Tom Rathborne, CEO

Tom Rathborne specializes in vulnerability analysis, troubleshooting and forensic reporting. His projects for Coldstream have included data recovery, log analysis and process optimization. He builds robust, high redundancy systems based on over 10 years' experience with UNIX-like operating systems.

As a seasoned programmer, system manager and user, Tom examines systems from a universal perspective to provide security wise code audits.

Tom has been tinkering with computers for over 20 years. He studied Computer Science and Philosophy at the University of Waterloo.

Claudia Schmeing, Chief Cryptographic Officer

Claudia has extensive experience in IS audit with with Coldstream.

Cryptographic projects have a way of finding her. From 2000 to 2004, Claudia was a member of the FreeS/WAN project, which provided a free implementation of IPsec for the Linux platform. She provided technical writing, support and testing. She represented FreeS/WAN at the Ottawa Linux Symposium, with a lecture and demo on its Opportunistic Encryption feature. With Paul Shields, she programmed PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) 6.5.2 for Linux.

Claudia has worked as a coder and system administrator in various environments, beginning in 1989.

Claudia has studied Engineering Science at the University of Toronto. Her interests include philosophy, privacy rights, and creative writing.

P. Alexander (Sandy) Harris, Research & Development

His professional accreditations include BA Psychology, Carleton University, 1969; CTESL (Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language) Carleton University, 1977; and is a longterm member of the internet community as a systems administrator. He has experience with Unix, Linux, MS operating systems, programming in C, in addition to a variety of network systems, Natural language processing and cryptography.
