When, Where, and How to Vote

On Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the District of Coldstream will hold a General Local Election for the offices of one (1) Mayor and six (6) Councillors, and a vote on “District of Coldstream Public Works Building Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 1808, 2022”. There will also be three Advance Voting opportunities.

VOTING TIMES & LOCATIONS

General Voting Day is Saturday, October 15, 2022. There will be three Advance Voting opportunities. Eligible voters can cast their vote at the Polling Place, as noted below. All opportunities will be from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

MAIL BALLOT VOTING INFORMATION

Requesting a Mail Ballot Package

Qualified Resident and Non-Resident electors may register and vote by mail ballot.  To obtain a mail ballot package, you must submit the following information by September 23, 2022 to the attention of the Chief or Deputy Chief Election Officer by downloading and completing the online form and submitting it by email to clerk@coldstream.ca. You may also provide the following information by telephone at 250-545-5304, by fax to 250-545-4733 hand, by mail, or by other delivery service to 9901 Kalamalka Road, Coldstream, BC, V1B 1L6:

  1. Your full name
  2. Your residential address
  3. The address of the property in relation to which you are voting (for non-resident property electors only)
  4. Indicate one (1) method of delivery of your mail ballot package:
    1. Pick up in person – Municipal Hall, 9901 Kalamalka Road
    2. Regular mail via Canada Post to your residential address, or
    3. regular letter mail through Canada Post to an alternate address that you provide when requesting the ballot package.
  5. You must indicate whether you are registering as a resident or non-resident property elector to ensure you receive the correct registration form in your package.

Mail ballot packages will be sent out on or about September 26, 2022. To be counted for the election, your mail ballot must be received by the Chief Election Officer at by 8:00 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022 (General Voting Day).

NOTE: It is the obligation of the person applying to vote by mail ballot to ensure that the mail ballot is received by the Chief Election Officer by the deadline.   Postmarks will not be accepted as the date of submission.
