News Release

The District of Coldstream reminds property owners that 2026 property taxes are due on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Any payments received by the District after July 2, 2026 will be penalized 10% on the outstanding balance. This includes payments entered by taxpayers on-line or by sent mail before July 2, 2026 but not received by the District until after.

Property tax payments can be made using the following methods:

  • Through your financial institution in person, online, or by telephone banking
  • In person at the Municipal Office by:
    • Cash
    • Cheque
    • Debit
    • Visa or MasterCard (transaction fees apply)
  • Online through the District’s website using Visa or MasterCard (transaction fees apply):
    • Select “Make a Payment”
    • Then select “Pay with OptionPay”

Property owners paying through a financial institution are encouraged to submit payments at least five business days before the due date, as electronic payments can take several business days before they are received by the District. It is the taxpayer’s responsibility to ensure the District receives their payment by July 2, 2026.

Eligible homeowners are also reminded that the Home Owner Grant must be claimed annually through the Province of British Columbia. The grant is not automatically applied, and it is the responsibility of the property owner to claim it by July 2, 2026.

Property owners are encouraged to review both sides of their property tax notice, as well as the accompanying information brochure, for important details regarding payment options and tax requirements.
