The District of Coldstream is committed to reviewing the accessibility of its physical and digital spaces, identifying barriers that may exist, and making improvements as required and allowed. Barriers may exist in:
- the built environment
- information
- communications
- the delivery of programs or services
In support of this commitment and in alignment with the requirements of the Accessible BC Act, Council has endorsed the North Okanagan Accessibility Plan, which focuses on six main areas:
- Accessible Built Environment and Outdoor Recreation
- Safe and User-friendly Transportation Networks
- Inclusive Programs and Services
- Accessible Communication and Access to Information
- Collaboration and Leadership to Remove Barriers
- Educated and Aware Civil Servants and Community Members
