The District of Coldstream Fire Protection Bylaw No. 1712 (PDF), establishes fire services for the District. The general mandate of the Fire Department is to take all proper measures for the prevention, control and extinguishment of fires, and for the protection of life and property, and the enforcement of all municipal bylaws respecting fire prevention.
The delivery of this fire protection service is currently provided by two fire halls, one in Lavington and one in west Coldstream, with 25 paid-on-call volunteer firefighters at each hall. The fire halls are not manned; however, non-emergency contact may be made to the Halls.
