Coldstream Receives UBCM Community Emergency Preparedness Funding

Type
News Release

The District of Coldstream is currently updating its Emergency Plan, which drives the programs during both small- and large-scale emergencies. To build a contemporary emergency response system, protocols must be put in place to support communication and evacuation.

To support these larger scale updates to the Emergency Plan, the District applied for a $40,000 grant through the UBCM Community Emergency Preparedness Fund (CEPF) and was successful. This funding will be used to enhance/build the District’s emergency response/communications system and evacuation plan.

CEPF is a suite of funding streams intended to enhance the resilience of local governments, First Nations and communities in responding to emergencies to reduce risks from natural hazards and climate-related risks. This program is administered by the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) and funded by the Province of BC.
