BC Wildfire Service has downgraded the Noble Canyon Fire status to “Being Held”, which means the wildfire, based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, is projected to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary.
The fire is currently displaying Rank 1, meaning a smoldering ground fire with a slow rate of spread, and crews saw no growth to this incident again overnight. Crews will remain onsite today, September 8, continuing to extend their wet lines and begin conducting mop-up and patrol activities.

The EVACUATION ALERT remains in effect for certain properties in the Lavington area and, in an abundance of caution, may remain in effect for several days. To see if you are in the affected area, please see the List of Areas Currently on Evacuation Alert available at: www.coldstream.ca/emergency-notices
What you should do when an Evacuation Alert is in Effect
You should be prepared for the evacuation order by:
- Locating all family members or co-workers and designate a meeting location outside the evacuation alert area, should an evacuation be called while separated.
- Gathering essential items such as medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (i.e. insurance), immediate care needs for dependents and, if you choose, keepsakes (photographs, etc). Have these items readily available for quick departure.
- Preparing to move any disabled persons and/or children.
- Moving pets and livestock to a safe area.
- Arranging to transport your household members or co-workers in the event of an evacuation order.
- Arranging accommodation for your family if possible, staying with family or friends is recommended.
