The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) and the District of Coldstream are pleased to invite the community to a public ceremony marking the raising of the Okanagan Indian Band flag at Coldstream’s Cenotaph Park.
The OKIB flag will be permanently displayed alongside the Canadian, British Columbia and District of Coldstream flags at the Cenotaph, recognizing the enduring presence of the Syilx people in their traditional ancestral territory since time immemorial, their deep connection to the land, and the ongoing relationship between the Okanagan Indian Band and the District of Coldstream.
The flag-raising ceremony will take place:
Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 4:00 pm
Coldstream Cenotaph Park, 9907 Kalamalka Road.
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend and join representatives from both communities for this meaningful occasion.
