Tonight's feature acts are Keith Hustler and Hugh Spinney:
Born in Armstrong, Keith Hustler returned to the Okanagan Valley at the ‘turn of the last century’ and began immersing himself in the vibrant local music scene. Hustler explores the common roots and connections of folk, country, blues, and rock music through a mix of acoustic covers, featuring the works of Big Bill Broonzy, Ray Charles, and Keb Mo, as well as John Prine, Fred Eaglesmith, and Jonathan Byrd.
Hugh Spinney is a Vernon based singer-songwriter originally hailing from a small northern town in BC. Raised in this close-knit community, Hugh's passion for music was ignited at a young age. He began writing songs at the age of 14, inspired by music he heard at school dances, on radio and at home. This included music by the rock bands of the 60s, country and jazz. Soon he was playing in a band and playing music at those school dances. Over the years Hugh has performed solo, played in classic rock bands and fronted a blues band. Hugh continues to hone his guitar playing skills and songwriting craft.
