2023 Audited Financial Statements

Council received a presentation from BDO Canada on the 2023 Audited Financial Statements and the final report and accepted the 2023 Audited Financial Statements as presented.

Okanagan College

Council received a presentation from Okanagan College regarding their history, programs and current initiatives.

Okanagan Regional Library

Council received a presentation from the Okanagan Regional Library outlining their goals, branch locations, statistical information and new initiatives.

Bylaw No. 1837, 2024 Financial Plan 2024-2028

Council adopted their 2024 -2028 Financial Plan bylaw for the years 2024 to 2028.

Volunteer Groups – Risk/Insurance

Council directed Administration to bring back information for the potential development of a volunteer policy that would include information on risk mitigation and insurance coverage.

Council received information updates with respect to:

  • Coldstream Community Hall, Quarter 1
  • Council Strategic Priorities and Tasks, Quarter 1
  • March 2024 Building Statistics

Highest Efficiency Equipment Standards Regulatory Consultation – Clean BC

Council considered the correspondence from the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation (EMLI), which indicated that, following the CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 mandate, EMLI has begun preliminary policy development to achieve the CleanBC commitment that all new buildings will be zero carbon by 2030. As EMLI is undertaking consultation process and seeking comment, Council resolved to send a letter to the Ministry requesting they consider the needs of rural properties and the infrastructure that would be need to service them and further, that the Province will need to provide a significant investment in infrastructure to achieve their goals to ensure affordability for BC residents.
